A paper toy by Ives, c. 1890.
In the bottom of an 8 1/2 by 7 inch box (probably original).
This rare paper toy, which has a clockwork mechanism that causes the cats to bow their instruments,is tall and in excellent condition. It shows two nail holes along the bottom.
It is very unusual to find mechanical paper toys in any condition
