Antique Toys

French Rossignol penny toy of soldier with drum...the toy operates with a flywheel and while he moves along he raises his arm and plays the drum.  The piece is approximately 4" tall and is japanned in the style of many early French toys.  This piece was-and still is-the icon used for the Ralston Auction Gallery.  There is a larger version,  but this small one is really the better piece in my humble opinion.
